Data Wipe & Handover Checklist

Use this checklist before handing your device to Kwik Buyback. It helps avoid delays during verification and protects your personal data.
Devices with activation locks (iCloud/Google/MDM) cannot be completed.


Before You Start

  • Charge your device (recommended 30%+).
  • Ensure you know your passcode, Apple ID / Google account credentials (to sign out).
  • Have your Civil ID available if requested (for ownership verification).

Step 1: Back Up Your Data

  • iPhone/iPad: Backup to iCloud or a computer (Finder/iTunes).
  • Android: Backup using Google Backup or manufacturer tools.
  • MacBook/Laptop: Backup important files to external drive or cloud storage.
  • Smartwatch: Ensure it is unpaired and data is synced where applicable.

Step 2: Remove Accounts & Activation Locks (Required)

Apple (iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch)

  • Sign out of Apple ID / iCloud.
  • Turn off Find My iPhone / Find My iPad.
  • For Apple Watch: Unpair the watch from the iPhone (this removes Activation Lock).

Android (Phones/Tablets)

  • Remove your Google Account from the device.
  • Disable any FRP risk by signing out properly before factory reset.
  • Remove Samsung/other manufacturer accounts if used.

Work / Company Devices (MDM)

  • Remove any MDM profiles, work profiles, device management restrictions, or corporate enrollment.
  • If you cannot remove MDM, the buyback may be rejected.

Step 3: Factory Reset (Recommended Before Final Handover)

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Erase All Content and Settings.
  • Android: Settings → System → Reset → Factory data reset (names vary by device).
  • MacBook: Sign out of Apple ID, disable Find My (if enabled), erase and reinstall macOS (as applicable).
  • Windows Laptop: Reset this PC / remove personal files as preferred.

Important: Factory reset should be performed after signing out of accounts. If accounts remain signed in, the device may still be locked.

Step 4: Remove SIM / eSIM & Memory Cards

  • Remove your SIM card.
  • Remove any microSD card (if applicable).
  • If using eSIM, remove eSIM profile where possible (or confirm with your operator).

Step 5: Prepare Accessories (Optional but Helpful)

  • Bring the box, charger, and cable if available.
  • Include original accessories if you want the smoothest verification and best outcome.

Step 6: Condition Photos (Optional)

At Handover (Store Visit or Doorstep Pickup)

  • Our team verifies model/storage, IMEI/serial (where applicable), and basic functionality.
  • We confirm the device is not locked (iCloud/Google/MDM must be removed).
  • If required, we may request Civil ID and capture verification details as per our policies.
  • Once you accept the final offer, we complete payment via Cash / KNET / Bank Transfer / WAMD.
